The presidential candidate for the Historical Pact, Gustavo Petro, asked his sympathizers and followers to respect press freedom, after the criticism that journalist Ricardo Calderón has received who revealed a report on the visit and meeting of Juan Fernando Petro to La Picota in Bogotá.

Petro’s statement comes amid controversy over the meeting he had his brother Juan Fernando Petro with Iván Moreno, brother of former mayor Samuel Moreno, in La Picota prison in Bogotá.
