Right arm of President Pedro Castillo: "I have a dirty conscience... sorry, clean"

The secretary in charge of the Presidential Office, committed a slip when defending himself from the investigation initiated by the Public Ministry against him and a group of advisers for the alleged crime of criminal organization.

In dialogue with Canal N, he stated that he is a career official in the presidential office, with more than ten years of experience and that he has been appointed under Legislative Decree 728.

“My personal and professional career is known by my friends, my family. I have my dirty conscience… excuse me, cleanand I am here to work for the country and for all Peruvians”he expressed.

Camacho also responded to the remarks of the former prime minister Mirtha Vasquez and of the ex-holders Eduardo Gonzalez Toro (Energy and Mines) and Avelino Guillen (Interior), who spoke of a “shadow cabinet”.

“Mrs. Mirtha Vásquez has been summoned to present her statements, she has not gone. Mr. Toro has been summoned, she has not gone. Mr. (Carlos) Jaico has been summoned, she has not gone. They speak, they criticize, but they are not going at the moment”he underlined.

As recalled, the Second Supraprovincial Corporate Prosecutor’s Office Specialized Against Organized Crime opened a preliminary investigation against advisors to President Pedro Castillo and workers from the Government Palace. Biberto Benerardo Castillo Leon, Beder Camacho Gadea and Jaime Idrogo Mejía for the so-called case of “The Shadow Advisors”.

The investigation also reaches officials Wilson Petrel Mostacero, Rodolfo Ramírez Apolinario, Franco Pomalaya Neyra, José Luis Cristóbal Quispe and Sandra Paico Carrasco, according to the tax provision that El Comercio agreed to.

The preliminary investigation was opened for 60 days; however, it was clarified that it may be extended for an additional 36 months as it is considered a case of organized crime.
