Ricky Martin’s lawyer claims the accusations against him are a pattern of harassment

Ricky Martin's lawyer claims the accusations against him are a pattern of harassment

José Andreu Fuentes, one of the lawyers for Ricky Martin, assured this Sunday that the accusations made by the artist’s nephew against him for an alleged sexual Assault, “are part of a pattern of harassment.”

“These accusations are part of a pattern of harassment against the singer and are given in reaction to the artist’s claim to claim his name in the face of false allegations against him,” Andreu Fuentes said in a press release.

Andreu Fuentes’ statements come two days after Dennis Yadiel Sánchez, Ricky Martin’s nephew, filed a complaint with the Police at a San Juan barracks for alleged sexual assault, after the artist sued him for extortion.

“These statements are tremendously offensive and completely false and unrelated to reality,” emphasized Andreu Fuentes about the complaint made by Sánchez against the 50-year-old artist.

“When this person made similar accusations before, his request for a protection order against the artist had to be withdrawn, especially since this person admitted under oath that Ricky Martin had never assaulted him in any way,” he continued.

Andreu Fuentes, in turn, indicated that after Martin filed the lawsuit against his nephew, “he is trying to spread his lies again.”

“This individual has a clear agenda that is the product of a diseased mind that clearly needs help,” the attorney said in the statement.

The spokesman for the Puerto Rico Police, Axel Valencia, confirmed this Saturday to Efe the filing of the aforementioned complaint against Enrique Martin Morales, the singer’s first name.

“There is a complaint that was filed yesterday afternoon at the Río Piedras barracks by a victim who is an adult,” Valencia explained.

The spokesman added that they are “very sensitive investigations” and that due to the victim protection protocols “the identity” of the victims is protected.

The Police cannot reveal the name of the complainant although, according to the local media Primer Hora, it is again his nephew, who obtained an ex parte order of protection for domestic violence against his uncle last July.

The Court of First Instance of San Juan filed that case on July 21 after Sánchez asked to annul the requested protection order, it seemed that everything was settled.

However, the singer filed a lawsuit last Wednesday against his nephew for extortion, damages, requesting compensation of no less than 30 million dollars.

Said actions caused the plaintiff to be canceled millionaire contracts and present and future artistic projects.

The pecuniary damages are quantified in a sum not less than 10 million dollars.

In addition, they have caused damage to the reputation of the plaintiff that is quantified as of the date of filing of this lawsuit in an amount not less than 20 million dollars.

Sánchez, 21, alleged at the time that he had a romantic relationship with Ricky Martin for seven months and that, after the breakup, his uncle intimidated him and approached his home on several occasions.

The singer always called the allegations “completely false.”
