Ricardo Valenzuela; "There is a lack of new men, with new thoughts in politics"

This Saturday the first day of the ninth edition of “Univerano 2023” will take place. The meeting that will begin at 9 in the morning at the Instituto Libre de Altos Estudios (ILAE)

Monsignor Ricardo Valenzuela, bishop of the Archdiocese, who will be one of the speakers, affirmed that citizenship must replace a vice with a virtue, among them the mbarete, ñembotavy, oparei, the vai goesi, and others.

“We pass that on from generation to generation. They are vices that we are transmitting and it seems that it is difficult to eradicate. We have to rescue the opposite. Of mbaretethe opposite would be to put yourself in service, as Jesus did”, he explained.

He pointed out that the youth are fed up with this lack of authenticity from our authorities and are looking for better profiles that allow them to dream of a better future.

CANCER

When asked about what Paraguayan politics suffers from, he replied that corruption eats away at everything. He cited as an example what happened with the INCAN where the patients lack medicines.

“This is endless, we lack new men, with new thoughts, new leaders. I forgot about education, we are penultimate, that is very sad. Corruption is permeating all levels ”, he concluded.
