MADRID, Spain.- The renowned Venezuelan singer-songwriter Ricardo Montaner during this Christmas remembered the Cuban rapper and political prisoner Maykel Castillo (El Osorbo), sentenced to nine years in prison for the alleged crimes of contempt, attack, public disorder and defamation of institutions and organizations, heroes and martyrs.

In a message shared through the social network Twitter Montaner denounced that El Osorbo remains confined in a maximum security prison, in a delicate state of health.

“The world continues to turn, while we celebrate Christmas with our loved ones and in freedom, Maykel Osorbo is kept in a maximum security prison, sick and full of sores,” wrote the interpreter of popular songs such as “Let me cry,” “So in love”, “Don’t go” and “The top of the sky”.

Last October Ricardo Montaner got engaged publicly to sponsor Maykel Castillo, as part of the initiative “Sponsor a political prisoner of the world”, promoted by the Casla Institute.

“He is a young boy who is in the prisons of Cuba. Maykel Osorbo is also a composer, an integral part of the group that wrote ‘Patria y Vida’ and is currently in prison in Cuba paying because, according to what they told him, he was a danger to society. I want to be your godfather and I want to make visible your problem, I want to make visible what is happening with you, a big hug ”, declared Montaner on that occasion.

Later the Osorbo thanked this gesture to the Venezuelan. “For me it is an immense pride to know that a genius of the art of romantic songs like you, supports my cause in moments like these, so difficult,” said Osorbo in a message shared through social networks by the activist Anamely Ramos. .
