Ricardo Monreal receives support for the Presidency in Quintana Roo

Those attending a rally of the candidate for the governorship of Quintana Roo, Mara Lezama, who is running for the Together We Make History coalition, received Senator Ricardo Monreal Ávila with the cry of President! President!, during a rally held yesterday in the tourist center of Cancun.

Along with several senators from Morena, Monreal Ávila accompanied the candidate for the alliance, who is emerging as the future governor of the state, on a tour of the municipality of Benito Juárez.

Arriving at one of the concentrations, with the participation of thousands of supporters, several of them recognized him, raised their hands and chanted President! President!

It is not the first time that the leader of Morena in the Senate of the Republic receives the support of militants of the movement, so that he can compete for the Presidency of the Republic in 2024.

Similar scenes have occurred before, in the Salón Tenampa, in Mexico City; during the third report by Senator Armando Guadiana, in Saltillo, Coahuila; during the presentation of his book “Another field is possible”, in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas; and in the Senate session room itself, when the reasons why the so-called Plural Group was not included in the Permanent Commission were being debated in December of last year.

Monreal Ávila has made it clear that, once his party’s call is published, he will register to compete for Morena’s candidacy for the Presidency of the Republic.

He has also reiterated his position so that clear rules and a level playing field are established to designate the candidate of the movement headed by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, who has resisted mentioning the senator as one of the possible candidates to succeed him.

On the stage, accompanied by the candidate for governor of Quintana Roo, the senator highlighted the unity of Morena, the Labor Party, the Green Ecologist Party of Mexico and Fuerza por México, to support “a woman who heads a movement social to transform” the root entity.

The meeting was also attended by Senator Faustino López Vargas, Cristóbal Arias Solís, María Antonia Cárdenas Mariscal, Nestora Salgado García and licensed senator Marybel Villegas Canché.
