The president of the Movement Another Path Panama party, Ricardo Lombana, spoke this Friday, on Radio Panama, on various topics of national interest, such as the single dialogue table, the national crisis, the shortage of medicines, etc.
According to Lombana, if the Government wants to make consensual decisions, it must listen to all sectors, not just the private sector.
Along these lines, he made reference to the new decree that authorizes the 30% reduction of 170 medicines, which has triggered small pharmacy owners to emphasize that the measure caught them by surprise, that they were not consulted. “We are talking about almost 5,000 jobs that depend on these small businesses. Is it a good thing that medicines are cheaper? Yes, it is what the people need. At the expense of the little ones? This is an error and irresponsibility on the part of of the government,” he remarked.
Lombana wonders why the underlying problem is not resolved and talks about the real problem, which is the shortage of medicines, to which he replies: “we are putting a Band-Aid on private prices and how easy it is for the Government not take responsibility.”
In political matters, he did not overlook the issue of free candidacy that has caused a stir in recent weeks, considering that there must be changes.
“I think that free candidacy should be reserved for people not registered in political parties, I think that is logical, but that is not what the legislation proposes today. What is happening is largely the reason why we take the decision to make the party, so as not to submit to the irregularities, vices, obstacles and injustices of a completely flawed process. Seeing everything that is happening with the free application, there is the analysis of why we made a party, “he said.
