Ricardo Lombana ran this Wednesday morning for the presidential candidacy for the Movimiento Otro Camino (Moca), in the company of friends, activists, supporters and representatives of the social media gathered in a hotel in the capital city.
The period of nominations for president by Moca, -according to the regulations of its internal election process-, began on Monday the 15th and adherents and independent citizens can participate in it, as long as they meet a series of previously established requirements.
The final election of Otro Camino’s candidate for President of the Republic for the May 2024 electoral tournament will be defined next Sunday, July 30, at a Convention in which the national leaders and members of the National Directory of this party will vote.
It is important to specify that the current Electoral Code establishes that political parties like Moca, with less than 100,000 adherents, will not hold primary elections to define their candidate for the Presidency, but by an alternate process agreed upon and authorized by the Electoral Tribunal.
The rest of the elected positions at the national level will be chosen at a meeting of the National Board of Directors that will take place on Sunday, July 2.
