During the Justice Summit that was held in Colombia, Carolina Ribera, daughter of former President Jeanine Añez, met with the president of that country, Iván Duke, and with King Felipe VI of Spain, to make them aware of her mother’s case , who is being held and prosecuted for an alleged “coup d’état”.
“Thank you President Iván Duque for receiving me and for the sincere support for the freedom of my mother and his Excellency King Felipe VI of Spain for listening to me and receiving the letter from my mother and Javier Cremades for defending democracy and human rights in Latin America” he wrote on his social media accounts.

Ribera participated in the justice congress that was held in the city of Barranquilla, where several political personalities participated, including Duke, Felipe VI, Tamara Suju, Leopoldo López and the Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), Luis Almagro , among others.
The daughter of the ex-president participated in two forums of the meeting, in which human rights and the judicial system of the countries were discussed. In these spaces, he made known the situation of the justice system in the country and the “political persecutions” of the Luis Arce government.
“As the daughter of a political prisoner, respect for the rule of law and the importance of defending human rights in a country is fundamental. If the laws were respected in my country, they would never have a woman in prison like they have my mother, “he said.
