After learning that the former mayor Luis Revilla declared himself in hiding and his wife Maricruz Rivera was summoned to testify before the Prosecutor’s Office, the couple received the support of different political figures. The signs of solidarity came through social networks.
“My solidarity with Lucho Revilla and his family who are experiencing a reprehensible and unjust political persecution by known enemies of La Paz. I am sure that Lucho’s integrity will allow him to overcome injustice and infamy,” tweeted former mayor Juan Del Granado.
The former councilor and former minister Cecilia Chacón also spoke. “It is paradoxical to say the least that ‘justice’ prosecutes the mayor for such a despicable complaint as the one presented by Jesús Vera. The MAS leader not only enjoys impunity, but he put himself in ‘attakc’ mode, as a complainant for the buses in whose burning he is the main suspect, ”she published.
Similar publications were made by former assemblywoman Wilma Magne and the president of the Municipal Council, Jorge Dulón.
The wife of the current mayor, Iván Arias, expressed her solidarity with Rivera, as did the mayor. Her statements were highly criticized because a few days ago the municipal authority joined the Mayor’s Office in Jesus Vera’s complaint.
