Approximately 144 thousand taxpayers who fell through the cracks and settled their disputes with the tax authorities will settle their accounts this Monday (30). The IRS will pay the fine mesh batch for December. The payment also includes residual refunds from previous years.
In total, 144,225 taxpayers will receive R$448.96 million. Of this total, R$290.87 million will go to taxpayers with priority reimbursement.
Due to the floods in Rio Grande do Sul, this year, taxpayers from Rio Grande do Sul were included in the priority list.
In relation to the list of priorities, the majority – 64,089 taxpayers – reported the Pix key of the Individual Taxpayer Registry (CPF) type in the Income Tax declaration or used the pre-filled declaration. Since last year, Pix key information has been prioritized for receipt.
Secondly, there are 27,264 taxpayers between 60 and 79 years old. In third place, there are 7,435 taxpayers residing in Rio Grande do Sul. In fourth place, there are 5,997 people whose biggest source of income is teaching. The other priority contributors are 5,617 elderly people over 80 years of age and 2,697 people with some physical or mental disability or serious illness.
PIX key
The list concludes with 31,126 taxpayers who did not provide their PIX key and do not fit into any of the legal priority categories.
Open since the 23rd, consultation can be made on the Federal Revenue website. The taxpayer simply clicks My Income Tax and then the button Consult the Refund. It is also possible to consult the Federal Revenue app to tablets and smartphones.
Payment will be made to the account or Pix key of the Individual Taxpayer Registry (CPF) type informed in the Income Tax declaration. If the taxpayer is not on the list, must enter the Virtual Taxpayer Service Center (e-CAC) and obtain an extract from the declaration. If there is a pending issue, the person can send a rectifying statement and wait for the next batches of fine mesh.
Deadline for redemption
If, for any reason, the refund is not deposited in the account informed in the declaration – as in the case of a deactivated account – the amounts will be available for redemption for up to one year at Banco do Brasil.
In this case, the citizen will be able to schedule credit in any bank account in their name, through the BB Portal or by calling the bank’s Relationship Center on 4004-0001 (capitals), 0800-729-0001 (other locations) and 0800-729-0088 (special phone number exclusively for the hearing impaired).
If the taxpayer does not redeem the amount of their refund after one year, they must request the amount on the e-CAC Portal. When entering the page, the person must access the menu Declarations and Statementsclick My Income Tax and then in the field “Request a refund not redeemed in the banking network“.
