Around 511 thousand taxpayers who submitted their Personal Income Tax declaration by September will receive this Monday (30) the last of the five batches of refunds for 2024. The batch also includes residual refunds from previous years and includes around 86 thousand taxpayers of Rio Grande do Sul.
The Federal Revenue will disburse R$1.03 billion to 511,025 taxpayers. Payment will be made throughout the day, to the bank account or Pix key type CPF informed in the Income Tax declaration.
Around 40% of the amount, informed the Tax Authority, will go to taxpayers with reimbursement preference. In relation to the list of priorities, the majority, 201,381 taxpayers, informed the Pix key of the Individual Taxpayer Registration (CPF) type in the Income Tax declaration or used the pre-filled declaration. Since last year, Pix key information has been given priority in receipt.
Then, there are 106,289 taxpayers who did not inform the Pix key and do not fit into any of the legal priority categories. This is the third batch to include non-priority taxpayers.
In third place, there are 86,570 taxpayers residing in Rio Grande do Sul. In fourth place, 75,686 taxpayers aged between 60 and 79 years old. In fifth place, there are 23,180 taxpayers whose biggest source of income is teaching. The rest of the contributors are 11,188 elderly people over 80 years of age and 6,731 with some physical or mental disability or serious illness.
In the case of Rio Grande do Sul, state residents who regularized their declaration by September were included on the priority list. Because of the floods in April and May, taxpayers in Rio Grande do Sul were included in the priority list.
The consultation can be made at Federal Revenue page on the internet. The taxpayer simply clicks on “My Income Tax” and then on the “Consult Refund” button. It is also possible to consult the Federal Revenue app to tablets and smartphones.
If you are not on the refund list, you must contact the Virtual Taxpayer Service Center (e-CAC) and obtain the declaration extract. If you find a pending issue, you can send a rectifying statement and wait for the next residual batches. This year, the Revenue included 1.47 million statements in the fine mesh.
If, for any reason, the refund is not deposited in the account informed in the declaration, as in the case of a deactivated account, the amounts will be available for redemption for up to one year at Banco do Brasil. In this case, the citizen will be able to schedule credit in any bank account in their name, through the BB Portal or by calling the bank’s Relationship Center on 4004-0001 (capitals), 0800-729-0001 (other locations) and 0800-729-0088 (special phone number exclusively for the hearing impaired).
If the taxpayer does not redeem the amount of their refund after one year, they must request the amount on the e-CAC Portal. When entering the page, the citizen must access the “Declarations and Statements” menu, click on “My Income Tax” and then in the “Request refund not redeemed in the banking network” field.
