Return “solidarity shores”

Return “solidarity shores”

After the success of last year, the Embassy of Uruguay in Argentina decided to hold a second edition of “Solidarity Shores”, a binational meeting and a product fair, where different non-governmental organizations that work for social inclusion and sustainability, they will be able to exhibit their products at the headquarters of the Uruguayan embassy.

On this occasion, the activity will take place over two days: November 8 and 9, and the focus of the event will be on social integration and sustainability, through the participation of organizations and enterprises from both Uruguay and Argentina.

As explained by the Uruguayan ambassador to Argentina, Carlos Enciso, on November 8 in the afternoon there will be an exchange of experiences, projects and ideas, between entities from Uruguay and Argentina “in order to exchange experiences, generate synergies, betting on the gestation of a joint work between Uruguayan and Argentinean organizations”.

The binational meeting entitled “Agenda, objectives and shared social challenges” will feature presentations by recognized experts in the field. Among the speakers, Mrs. Jimena López, Executive Director of “Help Argentina”, stands out. She has vast leadership experience in organizations, in addition to having extensive training from different universities such as Harvard, San Andrés and the Universidad Católica Argentina. .

Meanwhile, on the second day, November 9, the central event of “Solidarity Shores” will be held, which, as in 2021, will consist of a fair of organizations that are dedicated to the production and sale of handicrafts with social and/or environmental impact.

There everyone who comes will be able to see these products first-hand. As reported by Enciso, everything collected in Solidarity Banks will go entirely to each participating institution.

Among the organizations that will be part of the event in this edition, the following stand out: Luz de Esperanza, APROPDIS, ASDRA, Construyendo Foundation, Niwok Foundation, San José Providente Foundation, Inclusive Art Festival Foundation, among others.

Due to the success of the first edition, this year the bet is bigger and the number of participating entities was increased, as well as the time slot in which the solidarity fair can be enjoyed. “The idea is that more people can attend and that the foundations can raise more for the benefit of such noble causes,” said the Uruguayan ambassador.

“Based on the success of last year, enhanced, because the pandemic is fully lifted, we have two days. On November 8, there will be a meeting of NGOs within the framework of Solidarity Banks, which will concentrate the specific NGOs that may have articulation on both sides of the Río de la Plata. The goal is solidarity, the potential exchange that can occur”, said Enciso.

The ambassador assured that it will be a good opportunity for the different Argentine NGOs to link with the Uruguayan ones. Likewise, he announced that social references and Argentine culture will participate in the event. In the case of the drivers of the activity, it will be the Argentines Iván de Pineda and Teté Coustarot.
