The National Confederation of Retirees of the Comprehensive Pension System took to the streets of downtown La Paz to demand that the Government pay attention to a sectoral petition that includes an increase in pensions.
“We have presented a statement to the central government and we have not received a response. These are issues that are very important: the economy, income improvement, Dignity Income increase and the revision of the Pension Law”, said the sector executive, Roberto Chávez.
The sector requests an adjustment of 6%, a figure that will be presented to the Ministry of Economy, with whose authorities it plans to meet in the next few hours.
The mobilization was reinforced by several delegations from the rest of the country.

The increase of 0.64% of the old-age pension based on the Housing Development Unit (UFV) is not enough, said the leader.
The mobilization took place in parallel with the delivery of the 2022 petition to President Luis Arce. In the document, the Central Obrera Boliviana (COB) requests a wage increase of 7% for the basic salary and 10% for the national minimum wage.
