Retirees and pensioners can claim reimbursement of up to 15% of the payments made with their debit cards, as long as they use it to buy food that is sold in kiosks, stores and markets.
Since 2019, the Social Solidarity and Productive Reactivation Law allows retirees and pensioners obtain a minimum refund for the total amount of all purchases made with their cards linked to the accounts where The beneficiaries receive their assets, in retail or wholesale businesses throughout Argentina.
The mechanism that benefits retirees and pensioners contemplates a sum of up to 1,200 pesos per month for each beneficiary, the amount is up to 2,400 pesos for those who receive up to a death pension, provided that it does not exceed the guaranteed minimum amount.
How to use the benefit
The refund covers all food products that are sold in retail or wholesale stores in places such as hypermarkets, kiosks, mini-supermarkets or stores that are registered with the AFIP (Federal Public Revenue Administration).
