The group of retired sailors Unión Naval sent a letter to the representative of the Office of the General Secretariat of the Organization of American States (OAS)Miguel Ángel Trinidad, to request that he authorize three retired officials to be received in an audience by the high-level group that will come to Peru this Sunday.
“The group Navy Union is made up of officers from Peruvian Navy in a situation of retirement, whose purpose is to contribute to the maintenance of Peru as a free and sovereign country, where there is the security of living in a democracy with full respect for human rights”, reads the second paragraph of the letter.

In this sense, the group expressed its desire to talk with the OAS delegation, in order to express its point of view regarding the alleged facts denounced by President Pedro Castillo before the international organization.
“As citizens who, without any partisan political interest and who by vocation and love have dressed the uniform of the homeland, we want Peru to be a free and sovereign democratic country aimed at development for the general well-being of its people”, they specified.
They also indicated that the names of the three officers who would represent the group will be confirmed once the hearing is given the green light.
