Puebla, Pue. The National Chamber of the Restaurant and Spiced Food Industry (Canirac) local urges the sector to reinforce its sanitary measures against the Covid-19 and invited them to maintain a capacity at 80% of business capacity.
The government of Puebla ordered that the mask be used again in a mandatory manner in public and private spaces with a high concentration of people, this before the fifth wave of Covid-19.
Carlos Azomoza Alacio, president of the organization, proposed that the businesses themselves make the decision to reduce capacity to prevent crowds, especially in these months of increased influx due to graduations.
“We know that there is an increase in Covid-19 casesboth at the national and state levels, and we will not wait for deaths to rebound to resume preventive measures in places that are in charge of the restaurant industry,” he said.
He assured that the sector maintains prevention strategies, such as requesting the use of face masks for workers, applying antibacterial gel to customers, constantly cleaning all areas, as well as requesting the optional use of masks in common sanitary places or reception.
Azomoza Alacio urged clients not only in this sector, but in general, to show solidarity in abiding by health recommendations, because any increase in cases complicates the economic outlook.
He indicated that recovering 90% of jobs was not easy for the restaurants that had to invest in improvements and have enough staff for attention, since it is essential to function.
He commented that the more than 700 partners are concerned about returning to confinement measures, since this year they still do not see a clear picture in sales, establishing that it will be until 2023 when they improve.
The president of the chamber assured that they will be participatory with the authorities in this fifth wave of Covid-19to prevent it from being prolonged.
