Santo Domingo.- Pedro Domínguez Brito, brother of former presidential candidate Francisco Domínguez Brito, resigns as a member of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) and its Central Committee, alleging that in that organization money is imposed over principles.
Through a letter addressed to the president of the party and former president of the Republic, Danilo Medina, Pedro Domínguez said that he had defended his government works, which had more lights than shadows, however, these were getting bigger, he assured.
“I defended your government work, without a doubt with more lights than shadows, but in the end those shadows grew larger, affecting your efforts at the head of the State and weakening the PLD in the core,” he wrote.
In the document Pedro Domínguez stated that in political morality not everything is fair to win and not everything should be tolerated.
“The word dignity must be tattooed on our foreheads.”
Domínguez Brito added that Professor Juan Bosch’s harvest ended up turned into vinegar.
“The exquisite wine, a product of Professor Juan Bosch’s harvest, ended up turned into vinegar.”
Another of the reasons that motivated his resignation from the party is that he no longer shared the same vision with that of the current members.
“In the current PLD I feel strange, we have different languages and a different vision of politics.”
He ended the letter by thanking Danilo Medina for the moments they shared, where the center of the conversations was to work honestly for the Dominican people.
