Santo Domingo, RD. – Fulls of indignation and accompanied by shouts, posters and titration documents, residents of Haina wall They protested in front of the Dominican Agrarian Institute (IAD) in claim of their definitive titles.
According to the residents of The wall, They have given about 5,000 land tasks to a single person, who has gone several times to the sector -which currently houses more than 20 thousand families– Next to the public force to evict them.
So they request that their definitive titles be delivered to safeguard their homes and not be seen in the position of vulnerability in which they are.
“Outside Canaan, be invaders!” The complainants shouted on the outskirts of the Dominican Agrarian Institute.

Domingo Echavarría, spokesman for the community, said that community members hold a general named Héctor Rojas Canaan to cause constant intimidation in order to leave their lands for him to appropriate them with an illegitimate degree.
“Annulation of the fraudulent titles that Canaan and Comparsa holds”he prayed one of the posters carried by one of the protesters.
In addition, the inhabitants asked the Agrarian Institute to take care of the situation that worries them and stop the invaders with the delivery of the degree that corresponds to each resident, who narrate that they have been living in the place for more than a century.
The community representatives stressed that President Abinader himself has reiterated on different occasions the importance of the degree as a guarantee of legal certainty and access to opportunities. And that is why they request the procedures for their community to be included in this process.
On their side, community organizations and neighborhood boards reaffirmed their willingness to collaborate with the authorities and expect the government to act promptly to meet their claim.

Finally, they added that they – the residents – achieved an agrarian settlement in 2000 and that it was signed by the director of that time, so they ask that agreement to be validated.
