With banners in hand and curtains with various writings, a group of residents of the Natá district protested this Monday morning, at the main headquarters of the Ministry of Public Works (MOP) to demand concrete solutions from the Government for their communities, among them, the repair of the streets.
The delegation of the residents demand the presence of the MOP minister, Rafael Sabonge.
“We demand that the minister face us, we want paved streets, we do not want more landfills, that they put the Natá highway out to tender. We send a strong message to the president and the minister, that if he does not attend to us today in Natá there will be no party on the 20 of May of the 500 years of foundation”, indicated the demonstrators.
They added that if they do not receive a response, they will take other measures such as closing the roads in Natá for more than 12 hours. “We are not going to allow more games, we are tired of the same and the lies. It is time to change, we want a solution,” they said.
Among the solutions they ask for are the paved streets of Natá, educational centers in good condition for a decent education. “They have forgotten Natá,” said one of the protesters.
Meanwhile, deputy Luis Ernesto Carles arrived at the MOP headquarters, and mentioned that for two years he has requested the bidding and construction of the Natá highways.
“We approved more than $1,300 million and $800 million in investment and how is it possible that you made a commitment with the representatives, the authorities and the people that you were going to put the roads of Natá into asphalting my city and now we have breakfast that you did not include them. Those moneys from the people are money that have to be invested. You are not writing to me, Mr. Minister, you had six months that you did not answer me on WhatsApp, “said Carles, referring to Sabonge.
