On Monday afternoon, the Minister of Public Works, Services and Housing, Édgar Montaño, arrived in the municipality of Chimoré, in the Cochabamba tropics, to start a dialogue table with the institutions, social groups and neighbors who They blocked the road to Santa Cruz to demand the construction of the double lane.
Montaño walked to the venue for this meeting, due to the pressure measure that cuts off vehicular traffic. of this assembly former president Evo Morales is also participatingthe representatives of the six federations of coca growers, Fejuve, the Bolivian Highway Administrator (ABC), the Mayor of Chimoré and social organizations.

The inhabitants of the area They say they are tired of dust and accidents due to the stoppage of the construction of the double lane of the Chimoré-Villa Tunari highway. That is why since early Monday morning they decided to block the route that connects Cochabamba with Santa Cruz to demand a definitive solution to the issue.
The blockers were organized in two points. One group stationed itself on the bridge and another at the Unibol (University of Bolivia). At the moment the traffic remains closed, and More than 800 stranded vehicles are observed at the site.
This morning, hours before the meeting, Minister Montaño directly held the contractor company responsible that the work was awarded due to the stoppage. “All the opportunities were given (to the company) and to date it has not been able to comply. I will go to Chimoré to make a final decision. Neither the brothers of the Tropics nor we (the Government) have generated this problem”, expressed the authority.
At this time of the night (11:15 p.m.) on Monday, August 29, the meeting has not concludedon and the blockade is maintained while waiting for an agreement to be reached with the national government.
