Residents in Villa Consuelo complain about dumpsters in front of the school

Residentes en Villa Consuelo se quejan por basureros frente a escuela

Santo Domingo.-Residents of the Villa Consuelo sector, in the capital, asked the authorities to eliminate two landfills located in front of the República de Cuba Basic School, which, they affirm, endanger the health of the students of said campus.

They complained because, as they say, neither the Mayor’s Office of the National District (ADN) nor the Ministry of Education (Minerd) have paid attention to the complaints made by residents of the place and teachers of the educational center.

The school is located on Eusebio Manzueta Street, where there are several garbage dumps, where rotten waste is deposited, according to residents of the capital sector.

“We want the mayor’s office to put a staff in front of the school to prevent garbage from being thrown here, because the garbage trucks come and pick it up, but then there is the same dump,” said a local resident.

The problem has been reported on several occasions, so the locals hope that at some point the authorities will take drastic measures against those who throw waste in the area.
