Residents in Havana will only be able to buy in stores in their municipalities

MIAMI, United States. — The scarcity and unavailability of basic products will mean that residents of Havana will only be able to buy in stores and commercial establishments in their municipalities, a provision of the provincial government that will come into force on Thursday, April 21.

According to a note in Tribune of Havanathe measure is the result of the “existing situation with the availability of products” and seeks to “make sales more viable, achieve greater equity and, therefore, reduce the agglomeration of people in establishments.”

As of the date indicated, the purchase in the stores of the Caribe and Cimex Chains will be made only in the municipality of residence. Likewise, all the products that are sold will be controlled and regulated, in the case of the first, the record will be kept by the supply book.

In this sense, the provincial government of Havana also recalled that the identity card scanning system will be applied in all establishments.

The information adds that “in the municipalities where conditions allow, the nuclei will be linked to stores and points of sale.” Likewise, “sales cycles of controlled products will be organized, in correspondence with the real possibilities of supply and logistics.”

The statement specified that in the Four Ways Shopping Center Only residents in the municipalities of Old Havana and Cerro will be able to buy; in that of Carlos III, the inhabitants of Centro Habana and Plaza de la Revolución will do it; while in the El Pedregal Shopping Center only the residents of La Lisa will buy.

“These measures come into force as of next Thursday, April 21 and in correspondence with the characteristics of each municipality, the municipal groups will organize their work and control system, to apply each measure and establish the procedure to achieve the objective. planned”, adds the note from the provincial government.
