On Monday morning, an arrest warrant was issued against the former mayor of Belén, Víctor Ramón Sanabria Oporto. He himself is a candidate for departmental councilor in Concepción for the “Republican Force” movement.
The same would be linked to the shipment of cocaine seized in Montevideo, in the middle of Paraguayan meat.
As a result of this situation, the movement of the national leader issued a statement asking the politician to surrender to Justice.
“Given the facts of public knowledge, which involve the candidate for incumbent departmental councilor number 4 Víctor Raúl Sanabria Oporto for List 3A (Concepción). We request that he immediately make himself available to Justice for the rapid clarification of the fact under investigation, also collaborating with the Public Ministry to quickly reach all those responsible. Our position as a movement in the face of events related to organized crime or illegal activities will always have our absolute repudiation with the firmness that characterizes us,” reads part of the publication.
CONTEXT
During the morning of Monday, the operation called “Moscow Connection” was carried out. It is a shipment of 653 kilos of drugs that were seized in Uruguay in the middle of Paraguayan meat.
The load left the refrigerator on September 29, the truck stopped at Cruce Liberación, then at Emboscada and there they began to handle the load for an hour and a half, according to prosecutor Osmar Segovia.
Sanabria was in charge of transporting according to the documentation sent by the refrigerator. But it cannot yet be confirmed if he is the ideologue of the event.
“We order his arrest for the purpose of hearing his version,” said prosecutor Osmar Segovia.
