Santiago Peña, presidential candidate for the ANR, visited his former contender Arnoldo Wiens, former presidential candidate for the ruling party, at his residence. With this, both actors signed a unity pact with a view to the generals.
Wiens announced that, among other measures, they will unify the benches in Congress. But he ruled out a hug with Horacio Cartes, former president of the Republic and current president of the ANR.
“I embrace the principles, with the flags,” he said. .
He affirmed that he is pleased to receive the next President of the Republic.
“He is going to represent list 1, I publicly thank Santiago Peña for visiting me at my home,” he said.
“We are going to build a relationship on the differences and things in common that we have. We start a conversation directly without intermediaries. We have four months of campaigning, 17 departments, the sum is what will allow us to win”, pointed out Santiago Peña.
