Representatives of the European Union (EU) carried out an inspection tour together with the personnel of the Sanitation Program of Panama, to learn about the work of the II Treatment Plant Module, a project that will benefit more than one million inhabitants of the districts of Panama and San Miguelito.
Rafael Díaz, coordinator of the Sanitation Program of Panama, explained the operation and progress of the work in its second module that has 99% execution, which will improve public health and quality of life for many residents of the capital.
Díaz highlighted that this work becomes the largest treatment plant in Central America.
Meanwhile, Alberto Menghini, head of Regional Cooperation for Central America of the EU, stated that it is an emblematic work, which seeks to support solutions that can improve people’s lives, while preserving local ecosystems.
