The president of the Permanent Commission for the Development of the Communes of the National Assembly (AN), deputy Blanca Eekhout, considered that the strategy of the president of the United States, Donald Trump, to subdue the people has failed.
The parliamentarian described Trump’s accusations and threats, made on social media on Tuesday night, as infamous. “It is a declaration of war that attempts to resurrect the decadent Monroe Doctrine, a doctrine that does not consider the inhabitants of America as people,” he said.
Furthermore, he denounced that the North American president claims as his own the resources and territories that do not belong to him, as is the case of the Gulf of Mexico, “…which is not Mexico’s, it is mine. The Panama Canal is not Panama’s, it is mine. And, now, it comes with the fact that Venezuela’s oil is not Venezuela’s, but rather theirs,” he stressed.
He explained that the strategy of this type of rulers of resorting to threats, aggression and war as a tool to try to subdue the people has failed and will continue to fail.

Eekhout remembered the oath of independence as an emblematic date on the 195th anniversary of the physical departure of El Libertador Simón Bolívar and the independence feat.
“Venezuela will never again be anyone’s colony… We managed to liberate a sacred land in an epic and heroic process, where it was not only the liberation of our nation, but of five countries,” he highlighted.
Finally, the parliamentarian reiterated the commitment to achieve full independence by the year 2030: “We swore, we swore with Chávez that we would reach 2030 in full, absolute, irreversible independence, telling Father Bolívar, do not plow in the sea, we have a homeland, a homeland forever.”
