A woman died after being shot in the head as a result of an apparent accidental handling of a firearm, according to police sources.
The event occurred early this Friday in building 07, 12th floor, sector A of the Ciudad Tiuna urban development, located in the Fuerte Tiuna military complex.
The weapon involved belongs to 1st Sergeant Héctor Alonso Quintero Urdaneta, which was allegedly handled by his brother Melvis Isaac Navarra Quintero.
As a result of this event, Odarlis Chiquinquirá Fernández Machado was injured, who was taken to the “Vicente Salías” military hospital where she was admitted without vital signs.
The Cicpc opened an investigation that began with the interrogations of the soldier and his brother.
