A Latam airline plane, arriving at the Jorge Chávez airport in the city of Ayacucho, suffered a fire moments before takeoff on one of the runways. The incident happened around 3:00 p.m.
So far it is known that all the passengers were able to be evacuated on time, suspending the boarding and departure of flights momentarily.
In this regard, Lima Airport Partners reported that they are “providing the necessary attention to all passengers, who are well. Likewise, we are investigating to determine the causes of the event.”
Likewise, the Ministry of Health (Minsa) reported that it ordered the transfer of ambulances to attend to the aircraft accident.
The Callao fire company, which is located at the airport, managed to put out the flames with the special foam used in this type of event.
According to the images collected by the airport security cameras, the plane was at speed about to take off when one of its wings collided with a vehicle.
