MIAMI, United States.- A report published by the Mexican portal LatinusUs this Friday revealed that the Cuban doctors sent to support during the COVID-19 pandemic in Mexico City limited themselves to “making beds, taking vital signs, conducting surveys, in addition to passing sponges to patients to bathe”.

LatinusUs had access to 1,000 reports written by the Cubans, in which it is stated that they “were not in charge of COVID care areas nor did they carry out any specialized activity,” the report says.

Last year, in a statement from the Cuban Ministry of Public Health, the Castro regime assured that thanks to the Cuban medical brigade, the fatality rate in the units to which the doctors were assigned was reduced by 21%.

“With the support of the Mexican staff and the experience of the collaborators, they were able to overcome adversity, and save more than 95% of those admitted for the new coronavirus there,” Osvaldo Castellanos Ravanal, head of the team that worked, said at the time. in the field hospital 1.

However, LatinusUS accessed, on the one hand, 426 monthly logs of Cuban doctors and nurses who were in Army medical units between December 2020 and February 2021, and on the other, the reports of 266 health workers who extended their stay in Mexico.

According to the documents, the members of the Henry Reeve brigade delivered to the Secretary of National Defense (Sedena) reports based on 30 templates, which were made on a computer and by hand, and in which “words, paragraphs, wording and even the same omissions and lack of signatures.”

Mexico paid the Castro dictatorship for 700 Cuban doctors who were in Aztec territory from April to July 2021, more than 6 million dollars.

The report reveals that the payments were made by the federal government, who transferred 135,875,081.52 pesos (6,296,342 dollars) to Mexico City, through the Health Institute for Well-being (Insabi) to “help him in the crisis. of the COVID”.

In total, the Claudia Sheinbaum administration spent 150,759,867 pesos (6,986,091 dollars), once the 14,884,785 pesos (689,749 dollars) were added for lodging and food for the Cubans.

The Government of Mexico confirmed last month that it will hire another 500 doctors and will buy Cuban vaccines against COVID-19.
