Replica of Carabobo's victorious saber conferred to PDVSA firefighters

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, conferred on Tuesday the replica of the victorious saber of Carabobo to firefighters from Petróleos de Venezuela SA (PDVSA) who provided support in the extinction of the fire registered in the Matanzas Super Tanker Basein the Republic of Cuba.

«This saber is only given to those who, through effort, dedication and sacrifice, make a mark on the Homeland. I hand over this saber from Carabobo to this brigade of firemen and women who are victorious, carrying out solidarity,” Maduro said.

From the Simón Bolívar Room of the Miraflores Palace, the Head of State highlighted the solidarity work undertaken by 43 firefighters and experts from PDVSA in the fight against the fire in Matanzas. “You went to bring the love and effective solidarity of the Venezuelan working class,” he said.

For such a heroic act, the 43 industrial firefighters of PDVSA received the Francisco de Miranda Order, in its Precursor Second Class, from the hands of President Maduro.

The National President pointed out that in the most difficult moments or when extreme situations arise, it is when who we are is tested. “You have been brave, patriotic and have fulfilled the mission that was given to you to support the Cuban people,” he emphasized.

In this sense, Maduro stressed that Cuba and Venezuela are united at the root of Bolívar and Martí. “They were born in different times, but they were united by the same idea, the same passion, the same love, the same vision.”

“Cuba has to know, under no circumstances will it be alone, it will have the support of the peoples of the world and of sensitive, brave and humanist governments,” the Dignitary stressed.

Likewise, the President recalled that Presidents Fidel Castro for Cuba and Hugo Chávez for Venezuela founded the union of Cuba and Venezuela. “They took her to the highest level that anyone could ever have thought of. We have kept it here.”

Hijacking of the Creole plane in Argentina

During the activity, the President Maduro reiterated its rejection of the hijacking of the Venezuelan plane belonging to the Emtrasur company hijacked in the Republic of Argentina.

“Imperialism hurts. I am outraged that the hijacking of the plane limits Venezuela’s solidarity with sister nations like Cuba,” she said.

For this reason, the National President denounced that Venezuela took 18 hours to leave to provide support to the Cuban people “because they have hijacked the special plane that Venezuela has for these circumstances of support for the peoples of the Caribbean and the world.”

“If we had had the plane that had us hijacked in Argentina, we would have arrived in Cuba 18 hours earlier and we would have controlled the fire sooner,” Maduro pointed out.

Venezuela will support the reconstruction of the Supertanqueros de Matanzas yard

President Maduro ordered the Minister of Petroleum, Tareck El Aissami, and the president of PDVSA, Asdrúbal Chávez, to establish communication with Cuban authorities to initiate the reconstruction from the Matanzas Supertankers yard.

“Cuba has all the scientific, technical, engineering and worker support for the reconstruction of the Matanzas Supertanker yard,” said the national president.

Finally, the Head of State extended his appreciation for the coordination efforts with the Mexican team that served in the Matanzas fire “Thanks to your sacrificed and risky work, the objective was achieved,” he said.

“We are united in need and pain, but we are also united in love, hope and battle permanently,” he stressed.
