The Public Ministry held the ceremony for the restitution and dignified delivery of the skeletal remains of three people who disappeared in 1984 and 1985 at the former Acobamba military base in the Huancavelica Cathedral. The victims were identified as Epifanio Ceras More, Urbano Escobar Soto and Julio Tineo Montero, whose remains were recovered and identified after years of investigation and forensic work.

According to the Public Ministry, the three victims were detained in 1985 during military interventions in the town centers of Marcas, Inkapaqchan, Toccto and Pisquiri, within the framework of the countersubversive strategy of the time. After his transfer to the former Acobamba military base, his whereabouts were not known again until the remains were recovered.

The Public Ministry indicated that this restitution reaffirms the institution’s commitment to the search for missing people, the clarification of human rights violations and reparation to families who continue to wait for justice.
