From Thursday to Saturday, the Nazca Hall of the Ministry of Culture will host the wake for former President Alberto Fujimori, who died last Wednesday at the age of 86.
Dozens of supporters of the former president are queuing up to pay their last respects at the government building, where a special space has been set aside to receive those wishing to pay their respects.
The wake, which has attracted a large number of Fujimorists and supporters, is taking place in a solemn atmosphere. People arriving at the site have formed long lines to gain access to the room where Fujimori’s coffin is located, in an emotional tribute to his political legacy.
Once the wake period is over, the former president’s body will be transferred to the Campo Fé Cemetery in Huachipa.
Authorities have coordinated the operation to ensure that the transfer is carried out with due respect and in an atmosphere of solemnity.
