On April 20, the relatives of the hostage of conscience managed to visit him in the Jorge Navarro Penitentiary System, known as “La Modelo”, and found that he had severe headaches, double vision and dizziness due to his health effects.

“To date, the neurologist specialist has not yet seen him, they have not done the magnetic resonance study to assess the size of the congenital cyst,” they indicated.

Yoel Sandino suffers from a congenital cyst in his head, for which he must be constantly checked every six months and since his arrest he has not been seen by a neurologist. The political prisoner had an appointment scheduled with the specialist for December 10, 2021, however, the police officers denied the request.

Relatives also denounced that the prisoner of conscience “has been in the sun for two weeks. In addition, they pointed out that they still have no answers regarding the authorization of the cards so that their younger brothers can visit Sandino in prison.

On March 17, the judicial operators at the service of the Daniel Ortega regime sentenced the digital activist to 11 years in prison, plus a fine of 42,000 cordobas. The activist was arbitrarily detained on November 5, 2021, on the eve of the disputed presidential elections in Nicaragua, where dictator Daniel Ortega was once again in power for another five years.
