Relatives of the young woman injured in Mexico will receive state aid if there is repatriation

Yésica Sol Samoiloff is a model and had chosen Cancun to live.

Alejandro Roble, brother-in-law of Yésica Sol Samoiloff, 33, from Mar del Plata, who has been in intensive care “stable and on a respirator” for a week after being hit by a car in the Mexican city of Cancun, stated that the health team of the woman “continues to be delicate” and that the Road Safety Agency offered them help in case she can be transferred to Argentina, when her condition improves.

“Last night Vivian Perrone, from the Association of Mothers of Pain, contacted the director of the National Road Safety Agency, under the Ministry of Transportation, and he contacted me and confirmed that they got the plane to bring Yésica once recovered, or that the doctors say that the transfer is viable”Roble told the Télam agency.

From the ANSV they confirmed that they contacted the family within the framework of the Road Accident Victim Assistance Network, which offered psychological assistance and eventually, when the woman is out of danger, they will collaborate with her repatriation in a commercial airplane for being of Argentine nationality.

Foreign Ministry sources confirmed to Télam that “The young woman hospitalized in Mexico is stable, with a respirator” and they added that “the fracture operation continues to be evaluated”.

They added that “as blood donors will be required, the Embassy in Mexico and the Consulates in Mexico City and Playa del Carmen will collaborate with the dissemination.”

“The deputy consul provided consular assistance to the sister of the injured woman at the General Hospital of Cancun”the sources said.

In addition, Yésica’s “belongings” were handed over “by a witness to the accident, who also recounted the facts” and was “available to testify before the Justice.”

After talking with the sister, “the deputy consul explained the procedures carried out with the motorcycle insurance, and the steps to follow to obtain reimbursement for the medical expenses already incurred and the expenses that will continue to accumulate until the total amount is reached. policy”.

Like the Consulate, the sister of an interned woman “received various calls from high-ranking authorities in Cancun and the State of Quintana Roo making herself fully available. In principle, the Secretary of Tourism of the state entity would have indicated that she would provide financial support ”.

Roble, meanwhile, pointed out that “other good news” is that the consul in Mexico went to see his wife Karen Samoiloff, accompanied by the director of the hospital where Yésica is hospitalized, and they told him that “the expenses of the surgical operation of the leg will all be covered”.

“We know that Yésica has to recover from her head first and that only then will the doctors operate on her leg, but having these two pieces of news for us is an enormous joy. We still have to cover the hospitalization costs and the studies that are they do for his head. The solidarity of the people is enormous and we are grateful for this attitude of the population,” said Alejandro.

Referring to the health report, he indicated that his wife had not yet told them what the doctors said today.

“But nothing has changed and she continues in intensive care at the Jesús Kumate Rodríguez General Hospital in Cancun -in Quintana Roo- with a respirator, in an induced coma. And we will see when the doctors consider that they can take her out of an induced coma to do the CT scan,” he explained.

“We know that as a result of the accident he has ischemia and cerebral edema and, from what we have found out with doctors here, the ischemia leaves sequelae and his rehabilitation will be hard… but what we want most now is for him to be conscious and recover to be with her and the family again. All together again,” he said.

He also recalled that “the doctors said that they first have to stabilize her head and then operate on her right leg since she fractured the tibia, fibula, the head of the femur and has a crushed pelvis.”

how was the incident

Yésica’s accident occurred around 11 p.m., on December 28, when she was riding a tricycle type motorcycle with her friend (Jesús) and upon reaching an avenue intersection, they were hit by a Mercedes Benz driven by a girl under 14 who was alcoholic.

Within a few hours, the teenager was released.

The young woman from Mar del Plata does not have medical coverage and that is why the family started a campaign to raise funds to pay for hospitalization.
