This vigil coincides with the “silent protest” called by the coordinator of the political organization Vente Venezuela, Maria Corina Machadoto do inside and outside the country in order to urge the International Criminal Court to act quickly in the case against the Venezuelan State for the alleged commission of crimes against humanity.
Likewise, this activity occurs within the framework of the releases that are carried out in various prison facilities in the country at the request of the Prosecutor’s Office, according to Tarek William Saab. The head of the Public Ministry indicated that there are already some 225 releases – which when contrasted with the figure of 141 from the Penal Forum there is a significant debt – and that it is not ruled out that there are more.
