Relatives of political prisoners ask "our rulers" to release them

A group of relatives of political prisoners asked “our rulers” to release their relatives detained in the cells of the dictatorship of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo.

That grouping, which represents some 28 hostages of consciencedid not report on the health and physical state of the detainees, nor did they admit questions from journalists from the media, omitted the mistreatment to which their own relatives are subjected and limited themselves to asking for their freedom.

“It is in this Marian spirit, and reaffirming our Nicaraguan identity… we ask our rulers for the release of all our prisoners, for the sake of the reunion of our families, and of the country itself, so that, with a sense of shared destiny, we all look towards the future with optimism, in a serene and prosperous Nicaragua”, indicates the only paragraph where they refer to their political prisoner relatives.

The two-page “pronouncement” contains a rosary of 34 names of the relatives of some 28 political prisoners and only four paragraphs where one would expect to relate the current situation of their relatives who are victims of the confinement of the dictatorship, but 75% of the content is dedicated to mentioning the traditional shouting.

«These are days of hope, of family union, of friendship between neighbors, of reunion with so many distant brothers who return to their beloved homeland, eager to repeat at the top of their voices until they run out of voices, Who causes so much joy? The Conception of Mary!” Reads the third paragraph of the document.

This group of relatives have requested on previous occasions that a new dialogue be opened with the Ortega Murillo dictatorship with the mediation of the Catholic Church, the same Church that is a victim of the authoritarian drift of the regime that keeps a dozen priests in prison, seminarians and lay people, including the Bishop of the Diocese of Matagalpa, Monsignor Rolando Álvarez Lagos.
