“My mom needs to have some tests to control her hormones because she is a thyroid cancer survivor, but also to know how her kidneys are doing because she has chronic kidney failure. We feel worried, because she has had high blood pressure and that affects her kidneys. We are concerned because we do not know to what degree her health is, “said the former parliamentarian.

Gutiérrez fears that his mother is likely to suffer a decompensation that affects the functioning of her kidneys, “as relatives, what we demand is that this medical check-up be carried out and that, given her health condition, the regimen be changed and that above all, if It is not like that, so let her be released because she deserves to be free. She is an innocent person, the only thing she has done is work for human rights, “said the daughter of the political prisoner.
Pinto, since his arrest on November 6, 2021, has not been able to undergo his medical check-ups, which are necessary for his health condition, currently he is only receiving primary medical care. Human rights organizations assure that the worsening of Pinto’s health is related to the conditions to which all areas of conscience are subjected, such as “systematic torture and mistreatment, poor nutrition, medical neglect and deprivation of medication.”
The activist added that Pinto “is clear that her fight is a correct fight, that she has not done anything wrong, on the contrary, we must continue fighting for the rights of women, indigenous peoples and children, and that for the Otherwise that is not a crime. She feels firm in her convictions ».

Pinto faces a sentence of eight years in prison, plus a 500-day fine, in addition to disqualifying her from holding public office. Judge Irma Oralia Laguna Cruz, of the First Trial Court of Managua, was in charge of reading the sentence to the hostage of conscience for the alleged crimes of “conspiracy to undermine national integrity” and cybercrimes.
The political prisoner is part of the group of hostages of conscience of the third age of the Nicaraguan regime. She is part of the list of 14 opposition women held captive for political reasons in the different prison systems of the country.
