The body of the Nicaraguan Anggy Díaz, murdered by her partner in Waller County, Texas, United States, will be repatriated to her native Chinandega, with the effort made by her relatives to obtain the money requested by the authorities.
According to information provided to the US media outlet KHOU 11 by the victim’s mother, Dania Díaz, she assures that together with her family “we have come to the conclusion that it is best for my girl’s body to travel to Nicaragua.” The family sought help at the Nicaraguan consulate in Houston, but said they were turned away.

Her relatives were collecting money to carry out the repatriation through a GoFundMe account, but decided to close the platform due to the creation of fraudulent accounts that sought to obtain money on behalf of the young woman.
The young Nicaraguan had emigrated to Texas, United States, more than three years ago; and last October 2022, she married Dicus, whom she met at the store where she worked in Magnolia. Both lived in a house behind Dicus’s parents’ house. According to the Sheriff, the parents of the confessed murderer were the ones who called the authorities to report the crime.
The body of the young Nicaraguan woman will be repatriated to her native town of El Viejo, in Chinandega, where her foster mother and aunt, María Libertad Díaz, together with other relatives and friends hope to give her a Christian burial.
Anggy’s mother claims that she had migrated to the United States to escape a violent relationship and had to leave her daughter in the care of her aunt. Four years ago, the young woman came to Texas from Nicaragua to meet with her mother and collect money for her aunt’s medical expenses.
«Infinitely thank you to everyone and those who wish to continue supporting thank you because no one is prepared for this. Unfortunately, my girl is gone, but she remains in our hearts. She will live there forever and I want God to help each girl who lives within four walls, to give her wisdom and intelligence because sometimes they do not have the courage to speak, “said Díaz in an interview with the American media.
