A new inspection is carried out by the security agencies at the Tía Panchita Rehabilitation Center, aimed at checking the conditions of the aforementioned clinic. It is the third procedure in this week.
The singer Jesús Miranda (Chino Miranda) remained in that institution from December 2021 until last Thursday when he was removed by order of the 9th Civil Court of Caracas. Said action is derived from a lawsuit filed by Astrid Falcón, the artist’s girlfriend, who denounced the “bad conditions” in which Miranda was within the aforementioned institution.
As a result of that civil action, the Public Ministry initiated an investigation to verify whether or not what was reported is true.
In this sense, prosecutors from the Public Ministry, police officers and health inspectors appeared at noon this Tuesday in Alta Florida, where the Tía Panchita clinic is located, specializing in addiction control and treatment for psychotic outbreaks.
When the information was known, parents of the patients appeared at the doors of the clinic to find out the situation of their relatives. Little by little, they grouped together in front of the clinic, which remained guarded by agents of the Bolivarian National Police. One by one they expressed concern about what was happening “in there.”
In the same vein, former patients recovered from the clinic also came to the vicinity of the institution.
“Here there is no clinic like it is; my son has had an improvement that gives me a break », commented a man, who has his son in that center. “In that clinic there is a lot of love for our relatives,” said a woman. “If they close this center, where are they going to take them, the other clinics are too expensive,” said another person leaning on a wall in front of the clinic.
“It is an arbitrary inspection,” said the institution’s lawyer who had not entered the interior of the farm to witness the procedure.
The first intervention to Tía Panchita was carried out last Wednesday when Chino Miranda was transferred from there to another clinic. The next day, police officers and prosecutors from the Public Ministry again showed up to inspect the facilities of the rehabilitation center. That day the sum of 2,500 dollars allegedly disappeared from the clinic, according to testimonies.
Attorney General Tarek William Saab has said that all procedures have been carried out to guarantee the health of Chino Miranda.
