The Nicaraguan Anggy Daniela Diaz Rivera21 years old, victim of femicide at the hands of her husband, Jared James Dicuswas fired by friends and family in the United States this Sunday, January 22, before being repatriated to Nicaragua.
The funeral service was held at the facilities of the First Baptist Church in the Magnolia community, in Texas, starting at four in the afternoon.
«Family and friends told me that Anggy was a very happy young woman, very smiling, humble and simple. She loved helping people. She was undoubtedly a great person. We are here to celebrate her life and keep that image of who Anggy Díaz was,” said Pastor Abel Amaya.
“Anggy was a young woman full of life, with so many dreams, full of goals and she didn’t deserve to die like this, nobody does, and the reason she came to this country was to fulfill those dreams. Her dream was to help her family there in Nicaragua and she fulfilled it because she was doing it that way, “she recounted.
The religious man told loved ones that «Jesus tells us: “Cheer up because I have overcome the world! In this world you will have many afflictions, but take heart because I am with you. God has created us with an eternal purpose that does not end on earth. Anggy’s purpose continues into eternity.”
The body of the young Nicaraguan will be repatriated to his native town El Viejo, in Chinandegawhere his foster mother and aunt, María Libertad Díaz, along with other family members and friends, will bury them.
The flight with the remains of the young woman will leave in the early hours of Monday and will make a stopover in El Salvador. From there they will be sent to Nicaragua, where they will tentatively arrive on Tuesday.

Angy Diaz She is originally from El Viejo, Chinandega. She was studying Accounting at UNAN and emigrated to Texas, United States, at the age of 18 to meet her biological mother and in “search for the American dream,” say those close to her.
On October 13, 2022, she married Dicus, whom she had met ten days earlier at the store where she worked in Magnolia, in a private civil ceremony. Less than three months after the wedding, she was murdered with a knife by her husband, between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon on Wednesday, January 11, according to local authorities.
Evidence shows that Dicus used a kitchen knife to stab and decapitate the young woman at the home they lived in, located in Magnolia, Waller County, Texas.
The house where the heinous femicide occurred is behind the home of Dicus’s parents. According to the Waller County Sheriff, the confessed killer’s parents were the ones who called authorities to report the crime.
The 21-year-old femicide was formally charged on Friday. A grand jury in Texas determined that there is sufficient evidence to support the first-degree murder charge against Dicus. The defendant is in jail on a $500,000 bail.
