People over 45 years old will be able to train in information technology and English

The National Institute for Employment and Vocational Training (INEFOP) presented the Talento Tech +45 program, aimed at training people over that age in information technology, to increase their job opportunities in that sector. The training, which began in June, is carried out semi-face-to-face, with virtual work components and a duration of six months.

“It is a project that includes specific training in technology, programming, but also in English,” The Undersecretary of Labor and Social Security, Daniel Pérez, explained this, accompanied by the Director of INEFOP for the Ministry of Education and Culture, Marisa Acosta, within the framework of the launch of the program.

Pérez explained that the plan is focused on the employment market. In this regard, he said that companies that hire people over 45 years of age will be able to benefit from Law No. 19,973, of August 13, 2021.

Acosta highlighted the inter-institutional work that made it possible to implement the initiative. “This completes the consolidation of a training strategy that revalues talent, the possibilities of inclusion, social reintegration and development of capabilities of people over 45 years of age,” he stressed.

On this occasion, 40 people will participate in the course and will also have a year of job placement supported and accompanied by the institutions.

The proposal is part of the INEFOP’s Innovative Responses to Strategic Challenges (RIDE) program, which is managed together with the companies Pyxis and Talento Senior Uruguay, with the support of the civil society organization Fibras.
