Rehabilitation of streets in El Chorrillo will cost around $60 million

The Ministry of Public Works (MOP) received 5 proposals for the ‘turnkey’ contract to rehabilitate 43 sections of street in the district of El Chorrillo.

Initially, the project covered 40 sections of streets, but last March the MOP included works in sectors not contemplated, as well as additional works in the parks that will be intervened.

This change increased the cost of the rehabilitation to 60.6 million dollars, from the 56.8 million dollars originally contemplated.

Of the 5 proposals received by the MOP, only that of the company Centroequipos SA was below the reference price, with 58 million dollars. It will depend on the technical score that the contractor receives to determine if he keeps the contract.

After Centroequipos SA, the lowest offer was presented by the Chorrillo Renovation Consortium, with 62 million 428 thousand dollars, followed by the Renovation Consortium, which proposed 62 million 634 thousand dollars.

The highest bids correspond to the C&T Chorrillo Consortium and the Transeq Copsa group with 64,937,000 dollars and 65,757,000 dollars, respectively.

In addition to the rehabilitation of the road network within said corregimiento, the selected contractor will have to bury cables, build the pluvial and sanitary system, as well as improve the sidewalks and build green and recreational areas.
