The Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies (MinTIC) announced that it issued Resolution 2614 of 2022, which updates the Regulation of the Public Service of Sonora Broadcastingadjusted to the legislative and economic reality of the sector.

Among the changes, the issuance of the Decree 1078 of 2015 Sole Regulation of the Information and Communication Technologies Sector and the approval of Law 1978 in 2019.
“By which the Information Technology and Communications -ICT Sector is modernized, powers are distributed, a Single Regulator is created and other provisions are issued, which made it necessary to update the regime applicable to the provision of the public service of sound broadcasting adjusting it to the new legal conditions”, highlighted the MinTIC in a statement.
This is how the new Regulation updates and simplifies the procedures and requirements applied to the public sound broadcasting service and gives concessionaires greater clarity about their rights and obligations. Likewise, a transition regime was established that will allow the fformalization of extensions of concessions that to date have not defined their legal situation.
“This seeks to promote a more efficient provision of the public broadcasting service and promote its continuity, in such a way that the purpose of satisfying the telecommunications needs of the inhabitants of the national territory is fulfilled.”, highlighted the portfolio.
