The Union of Messengers, Motorcyclists, Cyclists and Motorcycle Taxi Drivers of the State of São Paulo (Sindimoto-SP) participated this afternoon (13) in a meeting with representatives of the city hall of the city of São Paulo.
The entity aims to discuss with the municipality a regularization of the motorcycle delivery segment, which has suffered from the association with crimes due to false delivery men who practice robberies.
The City of São Paulo, through the Executive Secretariat for Transport and Urban Mobility and the Department of Public Transport, informed that it received representatives from various entities linked to motorcycle freight such as Sindimoto, Abraciclo, Sedersp, AMABR and ABO20.
According to a statement released by the city hall, a proposal for provisional regularization for the motorcycle freight activity was delivered by the union and a working group will be created with those involved to deepen the discussion. “The city hall is open to dialogue and suggestions for improvements to ensure the safety of motorcyclists and users of application services”, says the note.
The city government added that Law 14,491, of July 2007, applies to the motorcycle freight service and provides for the requirement for a trunk or other specific equipment for cargo transport, as established in regulations issued by the National Traffic Council (Contran), in addition to license plate, motorcycle license and Municipal Registry of Motorcycle Drivers (Condumoto).
