Those interested in participating in the 2026 selection process of the Unified Selection System (Sisu) can register until this Friday (23).
One of the new features of this edition is that anyone who participated in at least one of the last three editions of Enem – 2023, 2024 and 2025 – can register to compete for vacancies offered by the institutions that joined the selection process. It is also mandatory to have completed high school.
Sisu 2026 offers 274,800 places in 7,388 courses from 136 public higher education institutions – the largest offer in history, according to the Ministry of Education (MEC).

How to participate in Sisu
Registration for Sisu is free. The candidate must complete it exclusively online, through the Single Portal of Access to Higher Education.
Participants can enroll in up to two courses and indicate their preference as the first and second option.
When registering, you must fill out a socioeconomic registration form. Candidates who wish to compete for the vacancy reservation modalities, provided for in the Quota Law and in the institutions’ own affirmative actions, must make the choice at the time of registration.
How the selection is made
Candidate selection will be based on the Enem score from 2023 to 2025 that results in the best weighted average, according to the course option. The participant cannot have received a zero grade in the essay.
For candidates who participated in more than one of the last editions of Enem, Sisu’s registration system will automatically select the edition that offers the best weighted average for each course option chosen.
Trainee grades (students who have not finished high school and take the exam for self-assessment only) will not be considered.
The result of the only regular call will be announced on January 29, as stipulated in the notice.
Vacancies
In the edition with a record number of vacancies, the MEC highlights that Sisu 2026 included new campuses in the selection process and expanded technology, artificial intelligence and undergraduate courses.
Considering only the reserved places, in the context of the Quota Law and other affirmative actions specific to educational institutions, there are more than 148.9 thousand places for black, mixed-race, indigenous, quilombola, students graduating from public or community schools, as well as people with disabilities. This amount corresponds to 54.3% of all vacancies available.
Regarding courses, more than 73 thousand are for face-to-face degree courses in 18 areas. Students who choose these courses will be able to enroll in the Pé-de-Meia Licenciaturas program and will be entitled to a monthly financial incentive in the amount of R$1,050, throughout the course.
The university with the largest number of places in Sisu is the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), with 9,120 places. Next are the Fluminense Federal University (UFF), with 8,931; and the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB), 8,005.
The list of courses with the most vacancies is led by pedagogy, with 10,145 opportunities. In second place is the administration course (9,462) and, next, mathematics (9,332 places).
Tool
To support students in the process of choosing a course, the Sisu portal makes it possible to consult course vacancies by institution, municipality, shift, academic degree and type of competition. The platform makes it possible to monitor information such as the number of vacancies and partial cut-off scores, during the Sisu registration period.
Sisu
The federal program aims to expand access for high school students to public higher education institutions, through Enem. Sisu brings together vacancies offered by public higher education institutions in Brazil that joined the selection process. The majority of participating institutions are from the federal higher education network, with emphasis on universities and federal institutes.
