MIAMI, United States. — Cuban Television will broadcast tonight a “special program” on the events that occurred on October 28 in the waters north of Bahía Honda, which caused the death of seven Cubans who were trying to escape the Island illegally.
The news was broadcast in social networks by the official spokesman Humberto López, who pointed out that the space will be broadcast by the channel Cubavision.
“Tonight, at the end of the Star Broadcast of the Cuban Television Newscast, the channel Cubavision will broadcast a special program to inform about the meticulous investigation carried out into an incident associated with human trafficking in which there was a collision between a boat from the United States and a surface unit of the Border Guard Troops, on October 28, in Bahía Honda, Artemisa”, López wrote on his Facebook account.
The spokesman announced that the program will have the presence of authorities and specialists from the Ministry of the Interior (MININT) and the Cuban Maritime Association who participated in the investigation of the event.
One day after the events, the Cuban regime only limited itself to publishing a official note signed by the MININT accusing the United States of promoting illegal emigration.
“A new event with a fatal outcome occurs as a consequence of the hostile and cruel policy of the United States government against Cuba, which tolerates and encourages illegal departures from Cuba by allowing irregular migrants to remain in its territory,” the statement said.
Survivors of the event denied the official version of the alleged rescue carried out by the Border Guard Troops and insisted that the uniformed officers sought at all times to sink the small boat, in which more than twenty people were in it.
