Havana Cuba. — The adolescent Gabriela Zequeira Hernández, whom the regime sentenced in July of last year to eight months in prison for her alleged participation in the protests that took place that month in Havana, was warned to demonstrate this July 11, as well as to leave from your house.
During a summons at the Office of the Police Sector Chief, located on Calzada de Güines in the municipality of San Miguel del Padrón, Gabriela Zequeira was forced to sign a pre-written document, which she described as a “warning act.” .
“On paper I had to promise not to demonstrate on July 11 and to be quiet in my house, and they told me that if I went out that day I would go back inside (to the prison),” Gabriela told CubaNet.
The teenager also said that her cause no longer appeared in the letter as “public disorder” but as “counterrevolution”, a crime that is not even contemplated in the Penal Code.
Gabriela Zequeira was sentenced on July 22, through a summary trial held in the Municipal Court of Diez de Octubre, to eight months in prison, which she served under house arrest, that is, correctional work without internment.
“I finished my sentence in May, however they told me there that until these days are over, it has to happen on July 11 so they won’t visit me anymore,” he said.
At the time that Gabriela was sentenced, she was 17 years old, however, the Cuban Penal Code decrees that those over 16 years of age are attributable, for which she is criminally responsible.
