MIAMI, United States. — The Cuban regime expressed its regret today for the death of two migrants from the island who lost their lives on Friday of last week in Mexico.
The announcement was made on Twitter by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla.

A Mexican media report reviewed by the EFE Agency points out that the accident occurred when a minivan overturned on the Saltillo highway, in the state of Coahuila, on the border with the United States.
The death was confirmed by the Cuban Consulate in Mexico, which assured that it “provides care to the relatives of the victims.”
Until now, the identity of the migrants from the Island who lost their lives in the accident is unknown.
In addition to the two Cubans, two Ecuadorians and a Mexican died in the accident.
In 2022, several fatal accidents involving Cubans have already been reported in Mexico. Last August, six migrants, including Cubans, lost their lives in an accident in the state of Puebla. In March, three other migrants from the island died in a car accident on the Tinaja-Cosoleacaque highway, in the Mexican state of Veracruz.
Mexico is the last frontier for Cubans before arriving in the United States. In the last 12 months, more than 220,000 citizens of the Islandwhich constitutes the largest exodus recorded in the recent history of the Caribbean country.
