Regime ratifies sentence against political prisoners Danny García and William Caldera

The Supreme Court of Justice (CSJ) ratified the sentence against the political prisoners from Masaya Danny Garcia Y William Caldera Navarreteafter resolving “there is no place” for the appeal in favor of the two hostages of conscience.

Both opponents were sentenced to 16 years and nine months in prison plus a fine of 36,500 cordobas for the alleged crimes of drug trafficking, psychotropics and other controlled substances, to the detriment of the public health of Nicaraguan society.

The court document was sent to the lawyer Yonarqui Martínez, defense of the artisan Danny García, who for the second time is being held captive in the Jorge Navarro Penitentiary System, known as “La Modelo”, in Tipitapa.

According to the brief, the Sandinista magistrates Armengol Cuadra, Ellen Lewin Martinez Y Manuel Martinez confirm conviction number 28-2021, issued on February 11, 2021, at nine in the morning, by the Ortega judge of the Tenth Criminal District Court of Managua, Nancy Aguirre.

For the lawyer Yonarqui Martínez, with this ruling all the resources to demand the freedom of the inmates have been exhausted. The only thing left would be to suggest that the poverty benefit be taken into account in favor of Danny García.

William Caldera defenseless

As for the case of William Caldera, he has no defense, because his lawyer was the now political prisoner María Oviedo, who was able to file an appeal last year in favor of her client, but was unable to continue the case because she was detained for orteguista justice
